NO CHANGES AT TOP AS PAC HOOPS HITS FINAL THREE WEEKS (1/28/12)
With three weeks to play in the 2011-12 regular season, there were
no changes at the top of the PAC men's and women's basketball
standings following a full slate of conference contests on January
28. In men's action, Thiel has little trouble keeping its perfect
league record intact, as the Tomcats rolled to a
98-61
home win over Westminster. Second-place Bethany had the weekend off,
but third-place Thomas More and fourth-place Saint Vincent each kept
pace with road victories, as the Saints outlasted Washington &
Jefferson
84-74, while the Bearcats closed the game with a 19-7 run to
edge Grove City
62-57.
Finally, Geneva was a
70-58
winner at Waynesburg. On the women's side, Thomas More and Saint
Vincent remain tied for first, as the Saints defeated W&J
83-64
while the Bearcats were victorious at Grove City,
81-52.
Third-place Waynesburg bounced back from a pair of recent setbacks
by winning handily at home,
78-42,
over Geneva. Bethany held off an upset-minded Chatham squad, as the
Bison overcame a halftime deficit to edge the Cougars
77-67.
Finally, Westminster trailed by two with 1:18 to play, but closed
the game on an 8-0 run to win
61-55
at Thiel. Conference statistics for
men's basketball and
women's
basketball
through games of January 28 are now online.
