ROUD STEPS DOWN AS WESTMINSTER COACH (7/3/12)
Debi Roud ,
a three-time Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Golf
Coach of the Year,
has resigned as Westminster's head women's golf
coach. Debi, who was the pioneer coach of the program when she
was hired to guide the newly established team in 2001, will be
taking over as the head teacher at the Westminster Preschool. Debi
will be a part-time volunteer assistant coach so that she can remain
in a limited capacity with the program she helped build from the
start.
Jeff Roud,
Debi's husband, will be the new head coach starting this Fall. Jeff
has been a volunteer assistant the last several years. In
2012, Westminster garnered its third PAC women's golf crown and its
first since 2005.
2012 SPRING TEAM SPORTSMANSHIP AWARDS (5/18/12)
The PAC has announced the
2012 Spring PAC Team
Sportsmanship Award winners. The PAC Team Sportsmanship Award
program was started in an effort to recognize and encourage positive
sportsmanship among conference teams. The award is sponsored by the
PAC Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC). This is the fourth year
the team sportsmanship awards will be given out in each of the 19
PAC-sponsored varsity sports.

PAC SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP CANCELLED; WESTMINSTER WOMEN, DURLING
CAPTURE 2011-12 PAC TITLES (4/23/12)
The 2012 PAC Men's & Women's Golf
Spring Championship, a 36-hole event scheduled for April 23-24, 2012
at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon, Pa., has been cancelled
due to poor weather/course conditions. As a result, the 2011-12 PAC
golf team titles and postseason award winners have been determined
exclusively by the 36-hole results of the 2011 PAC Fall Golf
Invitational, which took place September 26-27, 2011 at Oak Tree
Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa. Traditionally, the PAC team
champions are determined by a 72-hole total that combines the
36-hole fall results with the 36-hole spring results, while
individual All-PAC honors are determined exclusively by spring
results. On the men's side, Washington
& Jefferson College finished with a 36-hole total of 295-305-600 to
capture the team title by five strokes over second place Saint
Vincent (294-311-605). For the women,
Westminster College captured its third PAC women's golf crown and
its first since 2005, as the Titans fired a 36-hole fall total of
381-377-758 to edge W&J (383-377-760) by two strokes. 2012 PAC
Coach of the Year laurels went to W&J coach Sean Dove for the
