Jackets' Drakeley Honored
Waynesburg University guard Tim Drakeley was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Drakeley is the second straight Yellow Jacket to win the award. He totaled career-highs with 31 points and eight rebounds, and also had five steals while playing all 40 minutes in a 78-66 victory over LaRoche College last Tuesday.

In that game, Wheeling Jesuit transfer Petre Petkovski scored a team-best 21 points and eight rebounds.

Tornadoes Renew Grove City Rivalry
BEAVER FALLS - The Geneva and Grove City College football teams have a long and storied rivalry. The teams first met in 1893 (a 0-0 tie) and when the series ended in 1983 with a 10-0 Geneva win, it was one of the longest rivalries in college football history. The series resumes Saturday at 1:30 at Reeves Field and, while none of the current players was even alive at the time, there will be memories on the sideline.

Titans Survive Thiel's Challenge
NEW WILMINGTON — Saturday's Presidents' Athletic Conference game between Thiel and Westminster wasn't for the conference championship, but the way the two clubs went after each other for 60 minutes, anyone who saw the game never would have guessed that is was just another regular season game.

Westminster College Hall Of Fame
Jim Goske — was the leading scorer on the 1993-94 Westminster basketball team that went 25-3, and was the last Titan squad to win 25 or more games. Goske (6-4) averaged a team-high 17 points that 1993-94 season as a junior while leading the team in 3-point goals with 77. Then as a senior in 1994-95, Goske averaged 14.6 points per game to rank No. 2 on the team in scoring behind Booker Newberry. For his career, he scored 1,202 points to rank No. 19 in school history.

Men's Cross Country - Grove City’s Joey Cortez finished 12th at the PAC Championships on Saturday. The Wolverines captured their 18th consecutive team title. Cortez, a senior from Ellwood City, finished in a time of 28:17 to earn Second-Team All-PAC honors.

Bethel Park graduate Lauren Woodring ranks third in scoring on the Grove City women's soccer team with 16 points. Woodring, a sophomore forward, has scored six goals and assisted on four others while starting in all 18 games.

Geneva Must Face 'Best Back  In Division III'
BEAVER FALLS - The Geneva College football team's primary task Saturday will be stopping the leader rushing in Division III. Waynesburg University running back Robert Heller is averaging 199.3 yards a game, 31 yards more than anyone in the nation at that level. The freshman from Ringgold High School has rushed for 1.594 yards and 20 touchdowns on 268 carries for the Yellow Jackets, ranked 25th in Division III.

North Hills High School graduate Mike Czerwien ranks No. 1 in NCAA Division III in sacks. Czerwien, a 5-foot-8, 225-pound senior defensive end at Waynesburg University, has recorded 18 sacks for 121 yards and 26 tackles for a loss.
