Presidents’ Athletic Conference baseball pitcher of the week.
A native of Campbell and an Ursuline High graduate,
Tedesko did not allow an earned run in 13 innings of work with no

Thomas More College junior shortstop Chris Fishburn (Elder High
School) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference baseball
hitter of the week Monday.
Fishburn led the Saints to a perfect 5-0 week by batting .400
(9-of-20) with two home runs (including a grand slam), three
doubles, a triple and 12 RBI. He drove in seven runs in a
four-for-five effort in a 12-7 road victory over Centre.

sophomore Bill Moder was named the PAC men's Track Athlete of the
Week after finishing third in the 1,500 meters (4:30.20) and fourth

Waynesburg Baseball Team Falls To Thiel
The Waynesburg University baseball team hung right with
23rd-ranked Thiel through four innings Friday afternoon as the two
teams opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play.

Westminster’s Jillian Babish (OLSH) set a new school record in
the discus and placed in the top 20 in two events at the Coastal
Carolina/Asics Invitational. Babish threw the discus 34.45 meters —

a 17th-place finish in the shot put.

Whiteman Signs With Waynesburg
Magnolia High School two-year football letterman Martin Whiteman
has signed a letter of intent to further his education and athletic
career at Waynesburg University.
Whiteman helped lead the Eagles to the state semi finals and the
state championship game the last two seasons, respectively, and
plays on both sides of the ball.

Ex-Pirates Voice Frattare Hired By Waynesburg U.
The
man who retired after 33 seasons as a television and radio
broadcaster for the Pittsburgh Pirates has been hired as a
communications professor by nearby Waynesburg University.
The university announced Wednesday
it was hiring Lanny Frattare (frah-TAYR'-ee) to teach sportscasting,
news announcing and public speaking courses.

Summer Terrell was selected as the PAC Pitcher of the Week for March

top of the seventh with one on and no one out and got her first

Waynesburg Baseball Earns Split With Baldwin-Wallace
The Waynesburg University baseball team ended its run at the
Russ Matt Baseball Invitational Friday by splitting a pair of
contests with Baldwin-Wallace College. The Yellow Jacket scored a
pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh and final inning to pull
out an 8-7 victory in game one. However, the Jackets couldn't pull
off a second comeback as they dropped a 3-2 contest in game two.

Hope Women Prepare to Face Thomas More
Hope College women's basketball players might be wondering if
their clocks got pushed up one week instead of one hour last
weekend. The NCAA Division III Final Four will be returning
to Hope's campus next weekend, but no one would blame the Flying
Dutch if they are feeling like they have already landed in the Final
Four, considering just how loaded their sectional is.

Giachetti Gets First Win With Jackets
Waynesburg handed first-year softball coach Lou Giachetti with
his first two wins of his career Thursday victories over Lesley and
Emmanuel, both from Massachusetts, at the Rebel Games. The
Yellow Jackets (2-6) won the opener 5-0 over the Lynx and completed
the day sweep against the Saints with a 5-4 victory.

The Flying Dutch are headed to Crestview Hills, Ky., outside of

While the high school wrestling season comes to a close this
weekend, the push for the NCAA Division I Championships held on
March 19-21 in St. Louis begins for several local wrestlers with a
pair of Waynesburg University wrestlers vying for Division III
honors. Nick Garber earned a berth in the national tournament by
winning the 141-pound title at the NCAA Midwest Regional.

Thomas More College head men's basketball coach John Ellenwood
was named Presidents' Athletic Conference coach of the year and
three Saints were named all-PAC. Ellenwood, in his third season at
Thomas More, led the Saints to the PAC regular-season and tournament
titles and earned the program's first bid to the NCAA Division III
Tournament with a 19-8 record. He is 33-47 in his three seasons on
the Saints' sidelines.

butterfly at the President's Athletic Conference championships
last weekend. Bertoli bettered her school record with a time of
2:10.13. Bertoli was third in the 200 medley relay and fourth in
the 500 free and 100 butterfly.

Thomas More 91, Bethany 65: The host and top-seeded Saints
(19-8) opened the second half with a 31-11 burst to swamp the
second-seeded Bison (17-11) for their first Presidents' Athletic

The Bethany men's basketball team was within one at halftime,
but Thomas More shot 76 percent in the second half to pull away for
a 91-65 victory in the Presidents Athletic Conference Tournament
championship game Saturday afternoon. The Bison's record
